The Spireites have signed Wigan Athletic central midfielder Lewis Montrose on loan until the end of the season.

The 20 year old, who has made two appearances for the Premiership side, has this season been on loan with League One outfit Cheltenham Town, where he made eight appearances and scored the winning goal against Oldham Athletic in the FA Cup.

Lewis Montrose said: "I am pleased to be joining Chesterfield and am looking forward to playing my part in getting the side into the play-offs by the end of the season."

The midfielder goes straight into the squad for Spireites home league game this Saturday against Barnet, kick-off 3.00pm.
