Confirmation that Chesterfield FC has now completed the signing of experienced midfielder Darren Currie following his release by Luton Town.

The paperwork has now been finalised after the player had earlier agreed a three year deal with the Spireites.

 

The highly-rated 33 year old is a former West Ham trainee who hit the headlines with Wycombe Wanderers before moving to Championship side Ipswich Town for £250,000 in 2004 following a short spell with Brighton & Hove Albion.

 

After loan spells at Coventry City and Derby County he joined Luton Town in July 2007 and has been released from his contract by the Bedfordshire club.

Darren Currie said: "Chesterfield manager Lee Richardson really sold the club to me and convinced me that this is the right place to be playing my football and it is the right move for me at this time."
