Chesterfield defender Phil Picken has agreed a new two year deal which sees him staying with the Spireites until June 2010.

The 22 year old former Manchester United trainee has made 116 appearances since first joining the Spireites in August 2005.

 

Chesterfield manager Lee Richardson said: "Phil is a highly valued member of the squad so I am delighted he has agreed to accept our offer of a new extended contract."

 

Earlier this week the former Sheffield United midfielder Lloyd Kerry also agreed to pledge his future with the Spireites for the next two years.

 

Last month the Spireites signed former Sheffield United captain and Welsh International defender Rob Page, former Port Vale midfielder and captain Paul Harsley, whilst midfielder Derek Niven also signed a new extended conract.
