Chesterfield is signing Nottingham Forest defender Brendan Moloney on a one month's loan deal and the Republic of Ireland U19 International is expected to be available for the Spireites away game at Brentford this weekend.

Chesterfield manager Lee Richardson said: "We are delighted that Brendon is joining us at a time when we need some extra defensive cover." 

 

"We don't want to get caught out due to any additional injuries or suspensions during a busy January."

 

The 18 year old is a key member of the current Forest reserve side, has already played a couple of first team games this season and made his debut in March 2007 against Gillingham.

 

He was last season voted Forest's 'Young Player of the Year'.

The player signed today but paperwork and ratification from the football authorities to the loan move will not be completed until Friday.
