Chesterfield FC have completed the signing of former Kilmarnock and Rangers midfielder Peter Leven on a one year deal until June 2008, subject to a medical.

The 23 year old Scottish U21 International turned down an offer from Kilmarnock to renew his contract after spending three years with the club. He previously spent four years with Rangers FC.

 

Chesterfield manager Lee Richardson said: "As a manager you like to have as many good players as you can so I am delighted that Peter Leven has agreed to join us as he will add further quality to our squad."

 

The Glasgow born player impressed in the midweek victory over Matlock Town when he turned out for the Spireites.

 

He is included in the squad for the pre-season game at York City, tomorrow Saturday 4 August 2007, kick-off 3.00pm.
