Chesterfield FC has completed the signing of Aberdeen midfielder Jamie Winter on a two year deal until June 2009, subject to a medical.

The 21 year old former Leeds United trainee has been with the Scottish Premier League side for the last two years and has had a short period on loan with St Johnstone.  

He is the Spireites fifth new signing of the season, following the signings of defenders Kevin Gray and Gregor Robertson and forwards Jack Lester and Steve Fletcher. 

Chesterfield manager Lee Richardson said: "I have tracked Jamie Winter's football career for sometime and am pleased that he has joined our promotion push back to League One."

Meanwhile, the Spireites are expected to include a number of trialists in this Saturday's pre-season friendly at Saltergate against Nottingham Forest for Steve Blatherwick's Testimonial game (ko 1-00pm).
