CFSS AGM date announced

Posted on: Sat 02 Oct 2010

The Chesterfield Football Supporters Society Annual general Meeting will be held at 7.30pm on 17 May at the Olde House, Newbold.

As well as the usual business of endorsing the accounts, we have several Board positions open to election.  However the most significant business is the proposal by the Board to merge the Society's business with that of the Chesterfield Supporters Club and to use the supporters club identity for the day-to-day activities.

It has been a decade since CFSS stepped in, almost by chance, to play a major role in securing the future of the football club.  We have come a long way since then!  Now having had the assistance of various individuals over the last ten years we see a Club ready to embrace a bright future in a new stadium.

Three years ago we accepted that investment wasn't viable without the Society giving up control of the Club. Last year we sold the majority of our remaining shares to ensure community facilities at the b2net stadium.  While there is a long-term role in policing the future of the Club and in continuing our representative role on the CFC Board, the immediate aim of the Society is to work with the Club in the move to the new stadium.

Should any member of the Society wish to stand for Board membership then please notify Peter Whiteley Email here in writing at least four days before the meeting.  A personal statement of up to 200 words may also be submitted."
