100 UP FOR SPIREITES BUSINESS CLUB

Chesterfield FC is celebrating a key milestone with the news that over 100 local businesses have signed up as community partners.  The Business Community Shareholders Club has doubled in size from last season and now stands at 109 local companies and still rising. This not only means over £20,000 raised in new money for the football club but every community partner gets benefits as well.  Like free entry in the Spireites new business directory, which encourages fans to support the businesses that support the football club, invites to special social occasions, and regular updates on Chesterfield's plans for a new football stadium.

Chesterfield's managing director Mike Warner said; "The response from local businesses is nothing short of overwhelming.  Whilst it means new money for the football club it is a true partnership which brings real benefits to the companies which join."

Mike Warner added; "It's still not too late to sign up.  For a no obligation chat with either myself, or fellow club director Chris Breeze, businesses interested in joining should call us the football club on (01246) 209765.

Goalkeeper Carl Muggleton presented a plaque to Tanya Noon of the Midlands Co-op.

The Spireites are holding three recognition events in the Executive Club this month when Chesterfield manager Roy McFarland, along with some senior players, present specially commissioned plaques to all 109 members.  The first event took place on Monday 13 September 2004, with two more planned for successive weeks, Monday 20 September and Monday 27 September 2004.  Because of the numbers involved members are being invited to attend in alphabetical order. Those who attended the first event were:-
