Members of the Spireites Business Club are supporting star striker Jack Lester with a sponsored car for the season.

Four local companies have clubbed together to provide a top of the range Mercedes Benz coupe so their favourite player can travel around in real comfort.

Gary Jackson of Defensor Fire Detection Systems and John Sanderson of C & J Supplies, along with business club founder members, Terry Young of Taymac Engineering and Jim Robinson of Instant Installations were joined by their families to present Jack with his new car.

Gary Jackson said: "We wanted to recognise Jack in a tangible way for his marvellous goal-scoring exploits last season."

Jack Lester said: "I really do appreciate this generous gesture and hope to pay them back with another bagful of goals this season."

Defensor Fire Detection Systems based in Leicester supply fire detection systems UK wide for hospitals and colleges. C & J Supplies, based on Brimington Road North, Chesterfield, supply welding equipment and supplies.

Taymac Engineering also on Brimington Road North is a precision engineer and breakdown specialist, suppliers to structural engineers. New Whittington based, Instant Installations, provide fabrication and welding, plate and structural steelwork and installations. 

Footnote:  Jack Lester is due to be presented with yet another award this weekend when he receives last season's PFA Fans Player of the Season Award for Coca Cola Football League Two at this Saturday's home game against Chester City.
