On Sunday December 4th the Centre of Excellence teams played Scunthorpe. The Under 11s, 13s and 15s played at home and the under 12s, 14s and 16s played away. Over all in the majority of the matches Chesterfield came out on top performance wise. Scunthorpe is usually a very good test physically and also plays some good football. So all the centre players need to play to their maximum to try and out play Scunthorpe. The under 16s did not play as well as they usually do but still came out on top. The pleasing thing was they can still grind out a result when not playing particularly well as a team.
The other Centre teams played well particularly the under 12s whose performances have been up and down this season. They just need to be more consistent week in and week out and that will build their confidence as a team. As long as this team keep learning and progressing the will be alright.
