The Centre of Excellence finishes the week ending the 20th April, the players will come back into training in August. The players will have to follow a pre-season training programme before they come back into training. This means when the players come back into training the coaches can concentrate on technical training instead of fitness training. The Centre of excellence teams played Hull City on the 30th March, the under 11s played some fantastic football. Hull City under 11s also passed the ball very well, both teams played the game in the right way. Both teams scored some well worked goals, I hope these players can carry on their form into next season.
The assessments for all the Centre players have been completed; we retained the majority of players and only released a few players. This shows that we are bringing in a good overall standard of player because we are not releasing too many players at the end of the season. Assessment time is very difficult for player, parent and coach because we do not like releasing any players. The centre will only progress with players who have good ability and a good understanding of the game.
