The under 9s, 11s, 13s and 15s played Rotherham at Chesterfield Cylinders on Sunday 2nd September, the even matches were called off away due to Rotherham not being able to stage these fixtures. It was a very tough start for all the Centre of Excellence teams because Rotherham played very well. All the Chesterfield teams had spells where they played some good football but they needed to sustain this football over a longer period time. The coaches can work on what needs improving during the next training session and hopefully the players will take this into the next match. Results are irrelevant at this moment in time, its all about player development and trying to groom these players into future Chesterfield first team players. We are now running an under 9 team at the Centre so if there are any under 9s that think they are good enough to trial at Chesterfield please contact Mark Jules at the Football Club.
The Centre of Excellence squads play Boston and Bradford on the 9th and 16th of September at Chesterfield Cylinders Sports ground 11.00am kick-off.
