Veteran Portuguese midfielder Luis Boa Morte has left the club following the expiry of his short-term contract.
The 35-year-old, who starred in the Premiership for Arsenal, Fulham and West Ham, joined the Spireites in October. He made nine starts and four appearances as a substitute during his time in North Derbyshire.
Spireites manager Paul Cook thanked the 35-year-old for his contribution. “Luis has been a model professional during his time with us and we thank him for his efforts but we have decided against extending his stay," he said.
Boa Morte becomes the second player to leave the Proact Stadium this week, after Craig Westcarr left the club by mutual consent.
