Just heard that Picks is out due to being sick, perhaps too much Christmas pud! The Chesterfield fans filing in in decent numbers, but not the 1000+ that we expected in yet with 20 minutes to go to kick-off. This Spireites enclosure starting to fill up now with ten to go for the big kick-off. The pitch looks in decent condition, after they winter weather we've been experiencing. There's no wind, so conditions look about as good as you could have at this time of year.
The air raid siren sounds and the dambusters theme playing here at Sincil Bank, indicating that players are about to enter the field of play. The Chesterfield section now filling up, well over 1000, closer to 1500 I'd say.
Spireites in their traditional blue and white with Lincoln in red and white stripes and black shorts. For some reason, Sponge-Bob Square-Pants is out there with a referee. Chesterfield kicking from my right to left. Game on. Wade small wins the ball in the box early on, but is unable to turn and get a shot in. Crossley puts the ball into the stand after a backpass from DJ. Decent cross from Morris after a one-two with Lester, but the ball's a little bit too far for DJ.

Gilmore fouls Djilali and the resulting freekick from 30 yards season Burch scramble a bit from Perkins delivery.
Djilali delivers a good cross in from the right after a ball from Lester but Hughton scrambles the ball away as the game continued to move from box to box with Chesterfield, looking slightly the more dangerous side, but only just.
25 minutes 1-0: Lincoln take the lead, Gilmour on the ball, he played it out wide on the right and it led to a deep cross from Facey. It didn't look dangerous, but found HUGHTON at the far post to head downwards and beyond Crossley, to put the Imps in front, with his 1st goal for the club. It really was a disappointing goal for Spireites to concede , and it will undoubtedly get manager John Sheridan, using the word sloppy.
Djilali looks to try and get Chesterfield back in the game, but his box edge shot was blocked by Burch.
29 minutes 2-0: Another dreadful goal to concede, a left wing cross this time and FACEY plants a looping header beyond Crossley for another shock to the system. Oakes was the provider.
It has to be said, the defence on both occasions were absent without leave and Aaron Downes must be rubbing his hands in anticipation of a start on Monday against Rotherham.
Two quick corners for Chesterfield. The 1st ended with Small heading disappointingly wide from a scoring position, the 2nd, also in from Perkins, saw Page head high and wide as Sheridan's side looked to get back into the game against a side that hadn't previously scored more than once in the league since September 5. When they beat rock bottom Darlington 3 -0.
Lester broke down the left and into the box and chose to try and shoot himself rather than use Small who was by himself on the penalty spot, Lincoln quickly broke out of defence and slowed the game right down, prompting their fans to begin chanting 'Ole' with every pass. The move eventually ended when Hughton fouled Crossley, as he went down to the ball.
Burch catches Perkins' free kick well under pressure from Breckin , but in truth, the keeper hasn't been tested anywhere near enough, despite looking very suspect. A Lester header rattled the crossbar after terrific work from Djilali, Small and Morris as Chesterfield look to step it up as the half-time whistle approaches. Small has a shot blocked after more Djilali raiding down the right.
2 minutes of additional time at the end of the first half signalled by the 4th official. The extra moments bring no further chances as the 1st half ends with Chesterfield disappointingly trailing 2 goals to nil.

There goes the air raid siren again, a sure sign were about to restart. Hopefully, the manager has berated his troops in the away dressing room, without doubt, the level of performance in the 1st half from Chesterfield isn't good enough to ensure we'll hit the top 3. Talbot on for Austin, with Mois, who looked a bit heavy legged in the 1st period, switching to left back. Swaibu on for the booked Baker for Lincoln.
A great tackle from Little robbed Kerr as he looked set to pounce. Talbot wins a corner after a quick ball in from Lester. Djilali takes, Breckin and Page both go close, but the referee indicates pulling from Chesterfield player, and the danger comes to an end. Already Talbot looks to be causing problems for the City rearguard as Chesterfield look to get on the scoresheet. Some loose balls from Chesterfield are not making their task any easier. This fixture last season was a low point in Chesterfield's campaign. Still plenty of time to go here today to turn this round but the visitors really do need to step up not just one gear but two or three. Facey, shows what we're up against curling one just an inch or two wide from the edge of the D.
Djilali delivers in from the left, Breckin gets a head to it but Small was just unable to get onto the end of the nod down. Talbot hooks a left footer wide after an Allott header following a long Morris throw, but the quality is just lacking from Sheridan's men. Scott Boden replaces Wade Small after 58 minutes.
Djilali wins a corner, takes it himself and Talbot's header was on target, Lester's little flick from that effort was then blocked by Birch on the line. Better but still no cigar. Back up to 6th, mind you, as Morecambe surprisingly fall behind against Accrington, who will now lead 2-0.
4604 here at Sincil Bank with 1183 having made the journey from Chesterfield. It's just not working for Spireites. Boden shielded the ball well, laid off to Allott and picked out Little but his ball to the overlapping Talbot with poor and the move broke down. 25 minutes to go and no sign of a Chesterfield comeback. Heath is lucky only to be shown a yellow card as he scythes down Talbot as he looked set to break in on goal. Colbert shoulder seems to be the bit that 13 most no doubt from his nasty tumble. Djilali delivers the free kick and Breckin's header is cleared.

Djilali's freekick is headed out for a Chesterfield corner on the right. Perkins 2nd ball in finds the head of Page with Birch flapping, but the ball flew wide of the upright. Niven receives a yellow card for to allow Chesterfield to break clear penalty Chesterfield penalty did you feel Talbot foul on Swaibu.
Were inside the final 10 now and it's looking like a defeat is certain. There is always hope, but nothing that has happened in the last 80 minutes has indicated that Chesterfield might pull something out of the bag on this occasion.
83 minutes: Chesterfield in with a chance as BODEN turns well to pounce after good play on the left by Perkins and Morris. There is hope again. 2-1
A City freekick deflected off the Chesterfield wall for a corner and the home side break and Talbot is fouled for a penalty, Watts booked. Lester steps up and rifles it over the bar. Will we ever scored a penalty again? Birch booked time wasting, but he'll not mind that. Boden has the ball in the net but the referee had already blown for an offence. Shane Clarke replaces Gilmour in the last minute of normal time.
4 minutes added time, still hope that it's all a bit stop-start and Chesterfield not able to get any rhythm going. Just seconds to go now. Plenty of attacking, Breckin up front as Niven drills one just wide.
FULL TIME: Imps 2 Spireites 1.
We were so close to earninga point, one that perhaps we didn't deserve, but nevertheless, it still hurt when that penalty flew over the bar to leave us pointless here in Lincolnshire. We need to step it up for Ronnie's boys on Monday.
